Tarantulas typically reside in burrows or gaps under rocks, which provides them with a safe and sheltered environment. These spiders are generally ground-dwelling and create or occupy silk-lined burrows for protection and to regulate temperature. This habitat choice also allows them to ambush prey that comes near their hiding spots.

While some tarantulas may occasionally be found in other settings like tree branches or open fields, these are not their primary habitats.
